During his turn to speak, Senate Whip and former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, became emotional and shed tears as he described the mistreatment he had faced in politics, especially from the very people he had helped found and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), whom he had financially supported.
Kalu, who started crying around 1:19 p.m., spoke about his past financial affluence and his commitment to not engage in corrupt practices. He expressed his grievances against those who imprisoned him, seized his businesses, and even attempted to assassinate him.
Despite facing these challenges, he emphasized his resilience and gratitude for the support he had received over the past four years while acknowledging the unfairness in the nation.
Kalu also shared his disappointment with the way people he had provided transportation funds to had later turned into intermediaries, highlighting the systemic issues prevalent in Nigeria.
