Beau Wilson: Farmington New Mexico Mass Shooter was Wrestler in High School
Beau Wilson, the perpetrator of the mass shooting in Farmington, New Mexico, had a background in high school wrestling. On a late Monday morning, a 16-year-old boy was sleeping at his family's residence on North Dustin Street when he was awakened by the sound of gunfire. Curious about the commotion, he peered outside and noticed police officers entering a nearby house where his friend lived. Believing his friend was at school, the 16-year-old sent him a SnapChat message to inform him about the ongoing situation.
Unfortunately, he never received a response. The police later revealed that Beau Wilson, an 18-year-old, had been roaming the street, which was a busy route adorned with churches and homes in a peaceful middle-class neighborhood. Wilson indiscriminately fired shots into houses and cars, utilizing three different weapons, including an “AR-style rifle.” The tragic incident resulted in the deaths of three elderly women, all aged over 70, and left six others injured, including two police officers. Wilson was ultimately shot and killed by the police after he had already wounded two officers.
Authorities disclosed that the victims included an elderly mother in her 90s and her daughter, who was in her 70s, both of whom died at the scene when their car was targeted. Another woman in her 70s passed away in the hospital. During a press conference on Tuesday, law enforcement officials revealed that the assault weapon used in the attack had been legally purchased and belonged to a family member of the suspect.
Beau Wilson, a senior at Farmington High School, roamed across a quarter-mile stretch of the city, aimlessly shooting at whatever caught his attention, according to Police Chief Steve Hebbe.
