Stonebwoy recognizes that Burna Boy has been making waves in the music industry for over a decade, and he believes that Davido's statement may not have been meant literally. Stonebwoy points out that artists like Rema and Ruger could be considered as “new cats” in the industry. However, when it comes to international appeal, Stonebwoy believes that both Wizkid and Davido have had significant success earlier than Burna Boy.
In sharing his perspective, Stonebwoy acknowledges the accomplishments and longevity of Burna Boy's career while offering his own insight into the progress of other artists in the industry.
He said, “Burna Boy is not a new cat to me because Burna has been there for more than a decade.
“If Davido said that, I honestly do not believe that he means that outrightly. New cats would be Rema, Ruger them. So, I don't believe Davido meant that but also if you ask me, I think Wizkid and Davido had have a fair share of international appeal earlier than Burna.”
