Athuman Yengayenga entered the mosque accompanied by three gorgeous women whose aim was to be married to one man.
Yengayenga, a resident of Shanwe, Mpanda Municipality in Katavi province, Tanzania, said his target was to marry four women after getting angry at his ex-wife for leaving him.
Challenges of marrying more than one woman
He wanted to marry many women so that if another wife left him again, he would remain with the others.
“It's by sheer luck. It is also challenging as you cannot get three women in a row and ask to marry all of them at once, and they agree,” he told AZAM TV.
Fatuma Rafaeli, Asha Pius and Mariam John also shared their thoughts on sharing one man and being co-wives.
Jealousy among three co-wives
They agreed jealousy would be there as they were all human beings but would strive to live together in harmony.
“We are not yet complete. We need one more woman,” Fatuma, the first wife, said as she adjusted her veil.
Yengayenga came from a polygamous family hence having many wives was a regular custom to him.
However, marrying three young ladies at once surprised his family as that was unheard of.
