A Nigerian man, Okeke Solomon Ekene from Anambra state has made the country proud academically in faraway Russia.
In an exclusive message sent to Fox Nigeria, the man said he had his second degree in Environmental Management, the Faculty of Environmental Engineering in Moscow, Russia.
The man revealed that he had a 5.0 CGPA in 2023 and emerged as the best graduating student at Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN). His perfect CGPA also came with an additional honour. He said:
“I also graduated with a Red diplom (honorary degree) due to my perfect CGPA (5.0). I also won a golden diploma (holder of the 1st degree of the competition for the best Dissertation).”
Photos he sent to Fox Nigeria showed him in his graduation gown as he posed with some of us lecturers.
In one of the snaps, he held his certificates as he displayed all the honours that he had. His face was bright with smiles.
Man with 3rd class bagged first class abroad
Meanwhile, Fox Nigeria earlier reported that a Twitter user shared his happiness after making his first class from the University of Hertfordshire, UK.
In a tweet on Friday, December 9, 2022, Ibukun Mofesola made it known that he had previously bagged a 3rd class degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Ten years after bagging the degree in OAU in 2012, Ibukun is now a first-class degree holder from a foreign university.
Similarly, a Nigerian man, Bolaji, who travelled abroad for his masters made a video interview and spoke about his achievement going to the University of Toronto.
Speaking in a short TikTok video shared by @canadianincome, he revealed that he studied civil engineering at the master's level with a focus on the environment. When asked if going to school abroad was worth it, the man said “absolutely” as he got in through a scholarship and does not have to pay off any student debt.
