Release Nnamdi Kanu within 14 days else… – Pro-Biafra agitators threatens FG
Princewill Chimezie Richard, leader of the Biafra Nations League (BnL), has given the Nigerian federal government a 14-day ultimatum to release Nnamdi Kanu, the group's detained leader.
If their demands are not met by May 8, 2022, the BnL threatens to shut down oil exploration in the Nigeria/Cameroon maritime borders.
They demands the immediate withdrawal of military troops from the South-East region. At a press conference in Calabar, the group also called on Cameroon authorities to stop collecting taxes from Nigerians living in the Bakassi Peninsula.
Richard stated that the BnL is not alone in this struggle, and they have the support of other groups. The group claims to command massive loyalists and followers, and it will be disastrous if their demands are not met.
Richard called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release Kanu before he hands over on May 29, 2023, and to obey court orders. However, Richard expressed disappointment and lost confidence in Buhari's government, and even if Kanu is released, it will not stop their agitation for Biafra sovereignty.
BnL also warns Nigerian authorities not to force them to take laws into their hands, and there will be no negotiation about Biafra.
