Russian President Vladimir Putin survives assassination attempt by Ukrainian drone in Kremlin

According to reports, the Russian President survived an assassination attempt by a Ukrainian drone attack on the Kremlin. The video of the alleged incident showed a bright explosion over the massive complex, which houses Putin's residence.

However, officials confirmed that there were no casualties, and Putin was not present at the time. has accused of launching the drone attack on the country's strongman leader.

This is not the first attempt on Putin's life. The oldest documented instance of such an attempt dates back to 2002 when his car was targeted. The Russian President survived this attack after receiving a tip-off from intelligence authorities.

It is said that the assassins, dressed as repairmen, had placed explosives on the road through which Putin was supposed to pass. In the same year, there was another attempt to eliminate Putin. An Iraqi national, believed to have links with Chechen rebel forces and militants in Afghanistan, was arrested and sentenced to 10 years in prison for his plot.

The Kremlin has issued a statement regarding the recent drone attack, saying that it regards these actions as a planned terrorist attack and an attempt on the President.

The country has reserved the right to retaliate. This alleged attack comes just days before the Victory Day parade on Red Square, which is an annual demonstration of military power in Russia, marking the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.

In September 2022, there were multiple reports of another assassination attempt on Putin's life. According to the UK-based media outlet The Mirror, a loud bang was heard from the left front wheel of Putin's car, and thick smoke followed. It is believed that the incident happened when Putin was on his way to his residence in the third armored car among five in his motorcade.
