Early Life
On the 8th of July, 1991, Thuso Mbedu was born in Pelham, a borough of Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. Thuso Mbedu‘s parents passed away while she was still very young. After the demise of her parents, she was taken in and raised by her grandmother, who brought her up carefully and lovingly without making her have the regret her parents' absence. When Thuso Mbedu was eighteen years old, she began her study.
Education
At the age of 18, Thuso Mbedu began her study of Physical Theatre and Performing Arts Management at the University of Witwatersrand and graduated with honors. In 2012, she went on for another certificate as she attended the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York, USA.
Career
Thuso Mbedu‘s acting career started in 2014 when she landed a simple role in the second season of the Mzansi Magic soapie, isiBaya. Immediately after that, as a result of her skill, she was able to play in Scandal the role of journalism student and wild child Kitso in 2015. In that same year, she had a guest role as Kheti on season two of the SABC 2 teen drama series, Snake Park. She, however, did not get another acting role for over six (6) months after her appearance in Snake Park. Then, finally, after six months of silence and no impression, she got her first starring role in television in the Mzansi Magic teen drama series, Is'thunzi, which started in October 2016. She acted as Winnie – a corky and over-ambitious girl who dreams and desires to marry a rich and famous rugby player, only to have these dreams shattered when she is exiled to move in with her harsh aunt in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal. In 2017, Thuso Mbedu was cast in the popular MTV series, Shuga as Ipeleng, and in 2018, she played the lead role of Okuhle Cele in the drama series, Side Dish.
