Tinubu declares 12th June public holiday to mark 2023 democracy day.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's led Government has announced that Monday, June 12, 2023 will be observed as a Public Holiday in honor of Democracy Day.
The declaration was made by Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, on behalf of the government. In a statement issued in Abuja, she extended her congratulations to all Nigerians on this special occasion.
Dr. Akinlade acknowledged that Nigeria's democratic journey, like many others around the world, has faced challenges along the way. However, she emphasized that the ship of State, its institutions, and most importantly, the Nigerian people have remained resolute in upholding the principles of democratic governance.
On this significant day, Nigerians and friends of Nigeria are encouraged to reflect on the progress that has been made, celebrate the achievements, and look forward to a brighter future for the country's democracy.
