Lil Uzi Vert and his girlfriend JT, a member of the hip-hop duo City Girls, found themselves embroiled in a heated argument on Sunday night during the 2023 BET Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Witnesses seated nearby reported that the dispute erupted because Lil Uzi Vert was allegedly engaging in flirtatious behavior with fellow rapper Ice Spice.
JT, who is 30 years old, was captured on video striking Lil Uzi Vert with her phone while labeling him a “groupie.” After the initial confrontation, she grabbed her mobile device once again and delivered another blow to the rapper.
Earlier in the awards ceremony, both Ice Spice, aged 23, and Lil Uzi Vert, aged 27, had performed, which might have led to Lil Uzi Vert simply expressing admiration for Ice Spice's stage presence. It's worth noting that they were sitting next to each other.
Amidst the altercation, Lil Uzi Vert can be heard proclaiming that he “didn't even do anything,” but JT was already making her way out of the venue.
Lil Uzi Vert followed her, and they departed the Microsoft Theater together. The conflict may have been exacerbated by his performance of a new song that mentions Ice Spice.

In this newly debuted track, Lil Uzi Vert references Ice Spice, although there is currently no concrete evidence of him flirting with her. The lyrics go, “I have a wonderful wife… Her wig fell off twice. She has a cute afro, resembling Ice Spice.”
Since they began dating in 2019, JT and Lil Uzi Vert have experienced multiple breakups in their relationship.
Before the incident, the couple seemed to be doing well, with Lil Uzi Vert seemingly attempting to uplift a disgruntled JT. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse from that point onwards.
