A cockroach made its way up the iconic steps of the Met, and in no time, photos and videos of the insect went viral on Twitter.
The fashion critics were quick to joke about the best-dressed roach, and some even asked it the classic question, “who are you wearing?” The moment was pure and authentic, and it represented the perfect convergence of glamour and grotesque, in true New York style.
Unfortunately, the roach's moment of fame was short-lived, and it ended in tragedy. After posing for photos, the insect was reported to have been killed on the same steps it had conquered moments earlier.
While the roach's story ended abruptly, Rihanna arrived at the event, stealing the spotlight from the insect with her baby bump and a stunning white gown covered in rosettes.
